Creating a unique wedding invitation
It can be tons of fun to plan your own wedding. From the decorations to the flowers to the cake, finding the right things can be exhilarating. Planning your reception and wedding gives you freedom to change things when you need to and have what you really want without having to feel bad being bossy with a wedding planner. It gives you the chance to bring out your inner sparkle in ever aspect of your day on the white carpet.
1. Make Them Reflect You
It all starts with announcements, so design your own invitations. This is the first that many people will hear of your great news. Plus it is the first time your guests will catch a glimpse of your tastes as a couple and of the upcoming wedding. So make the announcements something you are proud of. Dress them up or down according to your preferences. Your personality should come out in the announcement so that the invitation is completely yours.
2. Have It Match The Wedding
Your invitations should be a taste of what is coming up with the wedding. So make it all match. If you are doing pastel summer stripes, make that the paper pattern. If you are making everything decadent silver, dress up the paper with silver embossed lettering or paper accents.
3. Put Some Sparkle In It
Add a little bit of gloss with a touch or two of prettiness. Add embossed lettering or an extra sheet of lovely paper. Consider a bow or a stamp. Just a little something does a lot. Your bridal shower invites should be especially cute and designed with you in mind.
4. Color!
Add a splash of color. Choose your wedding colors then transfer them to the announcements. Don’t just do boring black and silver. Add a third color that can set off the wedding to be decoration in itself. Figure out what is best for the season and for you. Maybe you love the color orange, but you are getting married in winter. Rather than have a tacky shade, choose one that fits everyone’s winter skin tones and the setting. Amber would be a good bet in this case.
4. Be Open To Ideas
Make sure that in all of the stress of planning, you maintain an open mind. If your wedding party or fiancé have suggestions, be open to them.
So let your bridesmaids have a say in their dresses, especially if they will be buying. Many brides assign certain color and length and their bridesmaids pick out their own gowns. This can save you time agonizing over differences in body types and tastes and whining. So consider this option. And let them help you with wedding invitations and decorations. Any help is good help.
